My favourite reflection awarded 3rd prize in the REFLECTION contest, by wipplay.com

About two months ago, someone left a comment on one of my reflection pics on IG, suggesting me to participate in the contest, category Reflections organised by wipplay.com. I just logged in, uploaded three of what I consider my best reflections, and forgot all about it. It is a contest in which the photos most voted by the users win. I have not much faith in the contests in which the result depend on users, and not on a professional jury, so I just forgot all about it. 

But today I have recieved an email telling me that I´ve won the third prize with one on my pics, and this turned out to be my favourite reflection, that of  the Royal Academy of History reflected on a puddle, just in front of my house, which had already been awarded with an Honorable Mention in the last Mobile Photography Awards. I´ve been awarded with a catalog and two tockets for the exhibition. I am very happy for it! Thank you! You can see the photo in here.

This is the photo with which I thanked everyone on my birthday. And what I write beneath is the text that accompanied the photo:

"A few weeks ago I said that I was leaving IG for a while because I didn't understand some things I saw... Today, I must admit that IG has other things that I love very much, and that is most of the people I've met in here... I would like to thank warmly all those who have congratulated me on my bd, those who didn't know but will do so after reading this, and everyone who has been now to me somehow all these years... You made my day, really! And I can't think of a better way to thank you all than posting a picture of my favourite topic: "The world upside down, my world of dreams..." KEEP ON DREAMING, THANK YOU!!"

Anyone who knows my work knows perfectly well that I love to shoot reflections, especially reflections on puddles. But what I alsdo love is to watch the city, and its urban life reflected on a puddle and turn the picture upside down, so that it seems as if we entered into a magical world, into  a new dimension. So, when I was invited to Haro, I did what I usually do, look for puddles and shoot the reflection captured on it. This time, I could only fond a couple of puddles. I captured the city´s beauty, and my daughter MArtinás beauty. I hope you like them.

I took advantage of the landscape I enjoyed in La Segarra to shoot pictures with the "Panorama" function of mi iPhone. As usual, it works perfectly and captures precisely the beauty of the landscape. This pictures are not edited.

As I said in a previous post, I was kindly invited by Consell Comarcal La Segarra to have a two days meeting in that beautiful land, to get acquaintance with it and promote it on Instagram. Unfortunately, I could only stay one day, but I enjoyed it a lot, This is the story of one single day in La Segarra, though my edited, pictures. I hope you like it!

Como ya conté en un post anterior, fui amablemente invitado por el Consell Comarcal de La Segarra a un encuentro de dos días en esa preciosa tierra, conocerla y promocionarla en Instagram. I am a lover, while a novice, of the app Hisptamatic (only for iOS). There are so many possible combinations Lens + Film, that I'm always doing tests, and this trip to La Segarra has been a wonderful opportunity to use Hipstamatic again, with those beautiful fields of ears and poppies that I´ve loved so much.

Soy un enamorado, a la vez que un neófito, de la app Hisptamatic (sólo para iOS). Existen tantas posibles combinaciones lente + carrete, que siempre estoy haciendo pruebas, y este viaje a La Segarra ha sido una magnífica oportunidad para volver a usar Hipstamatic, con esos campos de espigas y esas amapolas que tanto me han enamorado.

Pics shot on April 28th during the trip to Haro that my family and I were invited by La Rioja Gouverment. It was Sunday morning, good weather,and the people of the village were all wandering around and chatting.

Invitado por el Consell Comarcal de la Segarra. Mayo 2013

He sido invitado por el Consell Comarcal de la Segarra al "Encuentro de Instagramers y Periodistas especializados en Turismo" a pasar los días 16 y 17 de mayo en esa zona tan bonita de Cataluña, en concreto de Lleida. Desgraciadamente, por razones familiares debo volverme al 17 por la mañana, por lo que sólo podré disfrutar del jueves 16. 

Me hace especial ilusión porque está también invitado mi buena amiga Olga, a la que no veo desde que bajó a Madrid en noviembre pasado, y conoceré también a otros igers, entre ellos a Mónica. Espero volver cargado de fotos que iré subiendo a Instagram y EyeEm, y que publicaré también aquí, y contribuir a la difusión y conocimiento de esta zona. Aprovecho para dar las gracias al Consell Comarcal de la Segarra, y especialmente a su consejero Miquel Parramon y a Maria Josep Jové, del Àrea de Turisme i Cultura.

Easter in Ayamonte / Semana Santa en Ayamonte. March 2013

The tradition of celebrating Easter in Spain is very ancient. Poeple love to go to the streets and watch what we call "the images" of Virgin Mary and Jesus carried on the shoulders of the "costaleros". This year, I passed my Easter holidays in Ayamonte. Although it is a small city, Easter is as much celebrated as in the rest of cities, These pics were shot inside the church, and the day after, at night, while the Viirgin "wandered" around the streets at night.

While walking around Ayamonte on an Easter night, I saw these kids playing by the Angustias church, a very impresive and powerful church in Ayamonte. I stopped by, unlocked my iphone and shot several photos, of which these are the ones I like most.

Mientas caminábamos por Ayamonte una noche de Semana Santa, ví a estos niños jugando junto a la iglesia de Las Angustias, una edificación masiva y poderosa de la ciudad. Me paré, desbloqueé mi iphone e hice varias fotos, de las cuales, éstas son las que más me gustan.

This post will be a description of my trip to Haro, in La Rioja, invited by  Jimmy Pons and the Gobierno de La Rioja, through the pics I shot and edited and the posted on IG and EyeEm. On Saturday morning I woke up early and before going to have beakfast I went wit my youngest daughter, Martina, to shoot some pics of the streets of Haro.

Este post será una descripción de mi viaje a Haro, en La Rioja, invitado por Jimmy Pons y el Gobierno de La Rioja, a través de las fotos que hice y edité, y subí a IG y EyeEm. El sábado por la mañana nos levantamos pronto y antes de ir a desayunar me fui con mi hija pequeña, Martina, a hacer fotos de las calles de Haro.

As I said in a previous post, a couple of weeks ago I was invited by the Government of La Rioja to spend a weekend with my family in Haro, along with Susana Alosete, Enrique Dans, Nicolás Amado, Antonio Domingo and Juan Merodio, to participate in the conference "Keys of Tourism Innovation for the Company".

In addition to the talk we had, we also enjoyed organized activities that proved to be very entertaining and interesting. The photos presented here were shot in Haro, on Saturday 27th morning, while doing the gymkhana around this beautiful city, and on Sunday morning, while touring the beautiful vineyards that surround the area.

It's amazing the new Panorama function that brings the iPhone's native camera since it upgraded to iSO 6.0. These photos are unedited samples.
